Stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination make their presence felt toward (old) age while ageing is the most natural way of life. The WHO has now released its Global report on ageism – the Executive Summary – in several languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish. The report outlines three strategies to reduce ageism that have been shown to work: policy and law, educational activities and intergenerational contact interventions. Through these strategies, action can be taken to invest in evidence-based strategies, to improve data and research and to build a movement to change the narrative around age and ageing.
