Current projects revolve around innovative toilets that support the independence of older people and people with disabilities while maintaining their safety.

Michael Brandstötter, co-Founder of cogvis and forlan gmbh.He is a graduate of TU Wien and a postgraduate of the Engineering Management Executive Education Program at Oakland University, Michigan, USA. Prior to joining cogvis, he was a Quality Manager at AT&S China in Shanghai. Michael has been coordinating national and EU research projects for more than 20 years in various fields and is currently managing the scale-up phase of cogvisAI, an AI powered sensor solution for the B2B nursing market.

Magdalena Kubecka is Vice-president of the On-site Foundation, NGO based in Poland specialized in building places and solutions dedicated to the elderly. She is responsible for the research activities and co-design processes with different groups of participants. For 12 years she has been working as a placemaker, facilitating a huge number of workshops for residents, local leaders and decissionmakers. She is an academic lecturer (SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities) teaching about the future cities challenges such as ageing society, accessibility or gender equality.

The main focus of the workshop is the availability of public toilets for the elderly and people with reduced mobility. During the session, we will focus on how we included the different groups in the process of co-designing toilet solutions. The panellists will share their methods and tools, obstacles and solutions. The workshop is jointly organised by representatives of different AAL projects exploring different approaches to support users on the toilet providing both physical and cognitive support for people.
