Getting to Gdańsk

Why Gdańsk?

Gdańsk is undoubtedly one of the most popular tourism and cultural centres in Poland. It is a rapidly-growing university and commercial hub inhabited by nearly 500,000 people. Situated on the Gdansk Bay on the southern shores of the Baltic Sea, it constantly amazes visitors from around the globe with its beauty. Great road, air and railway infrastructure also make the city an attractive location for conference-type events. More than 1,800 business meetings take place in Gdansk and the region every year. With more than 50 participants per event, the total number of attendees is more than 607,000.

We are close

Throughout its thousand-year history, Gdańsk has never been so closely connected to Europe. Planes of the following airlines land at the Lech Walesa Airport (GDN): Airbaltic, Finnair, KLM, Lufthansa, Norwegian Air, LOT, Ryanair, SAS and Wizzair. Charter traffic is also steadily growing. In total, you can reach Gdańsk from over 60 cities. Some carriers (including low-cost airlines) offer excellent prices. Provided you buy your tickets in advance, it is possible to fly to Gdańsk for less than a hundred zlotys.

Gdańsk is an important railway hub, with dozens of trains passing through each day. Thanks to our modernised infrastructure, reaching Gdańsk by train has never been quicker and more comfortable. Express trains need only 2 hours and 40 minutes to arrive in Gdansk from the capital – Warsaw, and will soon need even less. Neptune’s City can be reached from Krakow in 5 hours and 20 minutes, and a little more than 3 hours from Poznan.
